Bred by the Hops Brewing Company in 2016, Loral derives from Tardif de Bourgogne and Glacier, as well as the male parent of Nugget (which are all fitting substitutes for Loral). The Loral hop has been described as a “super noble hop”, as it combines the floral, herbal characteristics of noble hops like Hallertauer Mittelfrüh and Tettnang, with the fruity flavors of popular American hop varieties like Mosaic and Citra hops. Loral hops are dual-purpose and extremely versatile, used in the UK for a range of beers including pale ales, IPAs, porters, stouts, pilsners, blondes and even sours.
